Reagan, Perry, Rafael Cruz - IF he ever was different than what he is today - all changed their minds decades ago and have track records to prove it. Trump changed his mind last year, last month, possibly yesterday, and no doubt will again tomorrow. And yes he has personally insulted individuals, not least Heidi Cruz -- ergo he is a classless buffoon, certainly not Reagan or Perry caliber.

Nevertheless, that is what we are stuck with, and yes withholding a vote from him is the same as giving one to Hillary or Bernie, because it is a zero sum game in November.

The thing that makes Trump the only choice is that we know what Hillary or Bernie will do. We don't know what Trump will do (I doubt he does either), so there's a chance he might do the right thing, and the 2A and the rest of the Constitution won't immediately be fed into the nearest paper shredder.

Ted Cruz as AG though would be awesome. Those 30 Democrat State Attorneys General who are conspiring to wreck the oil industry and the conservative movement by jailing people for "climate change denial" will certainly turn their effort to the NRA and the gun industry as well and then the right at large. Those AGs should be facing charges for using their power to oppress people's First Amendment rights. I could see Ted Cruz leading a charge like that. Not too many others.

Oh, I will vote for Trump over Hillary or Bernie, if only because Trump is so unhinged that he might accidently do something sane once in awhile. Hillary and Bernie are reliably sure to keep us on the path to present-day Venezuela.

At the moment the only way I see any way to salvage this mess if for Trump to win the general election and appoint Cruz to be Attorney General or to the SCOTUS. Maybe AG first, then SCOTUS. Slim chance for that, but it's not zero. Trump might do it just to aggravate others.

I am not surprised, but I am downhearted. We are well and truly screwed.
