Dicken had a license to carry a handgun, which was issued Aug. 4, 2021. However, Dicken did not need the license because "constitutional or permitless carry" became law in Indiana on July 1. 

I am a member of the Indiana gun owners forum as well. This incident of course has been followed there. One of the posters noted that Mr. Dickens’ lawyer Guy Relford, mentioned in the article linked by Paladin, has posted on his Facebook page that Mr. dickens used a stock Glock 19 loaded with blazer brass ball ammo.
