Dang, I wish I could make one of these. This weekend, I'll be providing moral support for my wife. She has a shoulder issue that needs attention and is scheduled for some kind of scan tomorrow morning.
Keep 'em flying.

50 miles? You pikers! I have to drive that far just to see indoor plumbing!SA-TX wrote:

Maybe that's an exaggeration, but it's 50 miles each way to find a good movie theater where I can be schooled by socially responsible Hollywood stars who don't much like me.
As I recall. Been a while since I went to a movie.
Hope I can meet you fine folks next time around.

That's fascinating. Range rules are understandable, which would apply to all, but posting signs that do not apply to anyone except license holders is pretty ditzy.
Sounds like bad judgement and fake safety, neither of which is very reassuring at a gun range.

A no-show for me, too. I have a customer with a need for help at 9:00. It's 100 miles. Restricting my travel to normal three-dimensional planes of reference - I don't want to miss all the scenery! - I can't get there and back in time.

Plano? I risked life and limb on a motorcycle to get there from the uncharted prairies east of Waco!Flightmare wrote:Personally, I am fine going back to Rudy's. The food was good there, and we kinda had a section of the restaurant to ourselves. I don't care that I have to drive from Plano.
Got there too late. No, not because I can't get up to an alarm. I didn't see the thread about the event until 7 or so that day. The physics of displacement equal to velocity times time can be so cruel when there's 100 miles in the way of a gun meetup.
But don't mind me. I may have to work that day, anyway. Not sure yet. If I can I'd like to meet you fine folks, all of whom I sense are friends I haven't met yet. If I can make it, I'll be the shy one with the modest shirt hemline discreetly below the 1911 muzzle.

Re: DFW West/Southwest Quadrant Breakfast
Well, dang, missed all the fun. Hope it happens again. At least I know where it is. Darn gps took me to the shopping center just west of Rudy's.
But it was a nice ride here. I scrambled the Gold Wing as soon as I saw this thread, about 7:30 this morning.
Took the back road out of Tehuacana, through Dawson to Frost and Italy where there was some kind of bicycle ride in progress. I always show bicyclists respect. There but for Gottlieb Daimler 's foolish invention I'd be cranking pedals, too.
A quick strafing run through Waxahachie and Midlothian and here I am, a little late for the party but with a nice ride back to look forward to.
I wonder if anything's going on in Granbury? Only one way to find out, and my mood is not consistent with straight line courses today.
Wander today I shall.
