Re: Im going to face flame and compare Trump to Patton

I'm not a Trump fan for lots of reasons. I do like that he's got the GOP so frightened. Hopefully, the GOP's eagerness to ignore the primary votes of it's constituents will finally make people realize that the GOP is in it for the GOP. So, what are my choices? Vote for Trump, who I really don't beli...

The Herald should proof read it's headlines.

I'm not really sure what the poll question is asking.

Re: U.S. Supreme Court rejects challenge to assault weapon ban

When they decide not to hear a case, they basically are deciding to let the lower court ruling stand. It may not be as strong as if they ruled in favor of the lower court after hearing the case but the certainly decided not to override the lower court. We lost.

Re: Upstate New York sheriff urges licensed gun owners to carry firearm with them

It has been virtually impossible to get a license there for over 50 years. NY State issues county by county. New York City won't issue unless you're rich or a celebrity. The counties immediately surrounding NY are the same. The rest of the state is mostly shall issue. NY has about 100,000 permit ho...

Re: Annnnnnd here we go again

97% of crime committed with a firearm is committed with handguns. 3% is committed with all long guns. The FBI doesn't separate "long guns" into categories but those dangerous "weapons of war - assault rifles" account for less than 3% of crime with a firearm. Why does the governme...

He believes that America is the problem and that we deserve to be put in our place by terrorists because we hurt their feelings. If that's mental illness he's mentally ill.

Re: Do you think CCW/CHL holders in US will be a Deterrent for Jihads?

Concealed carry won't be a deterrent at all. Since they want to kill as many people as possible before they are killed, they will carefully choose their targets. But their most desirable targets are gun free zones anyway. Schools, Christian churches, synagogs, New York City, Washington DC, stadiums,...

There are 4 or 5 good ones.

One has been sponsoring the same right to carry bill every year for 20 years. Someday, it might actually make it to a committee hearing.

Re: Back door gun control - Chuck Schumer D NY

NJ's smart gun law is probably the reason smart guns have not been offered for sale in the US. Three dealers have announced that they were going to sell smart guns. One was in MD, one in CA, and I forget the third. All three changed their mind after receiving thousands of phone calls and even death ...

Re: I got shot in the head today

I was helping a friend of my daughter shoot a .22 handgun at steel plates. She was a first time shooter. My plates are angled down to ricochet into the ground. I was standing right next to the shooter, probably closer to the plates than we should have been. She fired a shot and it felt like somebody...

Re: The Judge in action...

I love my Judge. My daughter is learning to play guitar and is getting pretty good. She bought herself a ukelele today with some birthday money. I don't consider a ukelele to be a serious musical instrument but I hope she has a lot of fun with it. It's okay to have things you enjoy - even if they do...

Something worth looking into is reciprocity. If you travel, your TX permit may not be accepted by all states. UT seems to have the most reciprocal agreements in the states I travel in so I have a UT. I actually ended up on this forum because PA changed it's agreements about a year ago. There is now ...

Re: Public Bathroom Stall

The next time anyone offers to let me try their handgun at the range - I'm going to be wondering whether that gun spent any time in his "underwear hammock" while he was taking a poo. Might invest in a pair of range gloves now.

Re: College Students Call Police, Seek Counseling After Seeing Mouse

There are no hardships in life to toughen these kids up. We started out as hunter-gatherers who toughed out winters in caves, had to catch our own food, and protected ourselves from predators with rocks and sticks. My grandparents farmed to support themselves by working 16 hour days plowing with hor...
