Re: constitutional carry introduced in the Senate

And to be fair NAGR didn't say they would list them as anti gun, they said they would count a vote for Straus as an anti gun vote when they do their scorecards, subtle difference there. Considering how Straus has buried good gun legislation in the past I don't see how scoring a vote for him as a bla...

Re: constitutional carry introduced in the Senate

Yes I am happy to see them involved. I would have been happy to see the NRA or TSRA reps there too.

constitutional carry introduced in the Senate

This is the anticipated Senate companion bill to HB195, Huffines is a true patriot. Good to see NAGR pledge their full support for this bill. http://trailblazersblog.dallasnews.com/2015/01/texas-sen-don-huffines-says-legislature-will-pass-open-carry-bill.html/" onclick="window.open(this.hr...

Re: Record vote for House Speaker?

This is incredibly insightful and spot on. I couldn't agree more. When this will matter the most is in the primaries and I guarantee you a large percentage of primary voters are very aware of the speaker vote and it will be used in the campaigns by candidates and advocacy groups. Turner did us a gre...

Re: senator creighton needs the facts

Of course they have to have a CHL, that's the whole point. Arizona CHL has reciprocity with a large amount of other states, I think right around the same as Texas has with no issue because of constitutional carry. Creighton is saying that if permitless carry (constitutional carry) passes it may hurt...

senator creighton needs the facts

Creighton, made an incredibly ignorant statement on constitutional carry. "Not every conservative lawmaker supports the idea of open carry without a permit, however. Newly elected Sen. Brandon Creighton, long a legislative leader on pro-gun bills, said some worry that permitless open carry woul...

Re: HJR 56

I would like to see this tracked and rated as well, I believe a JR is how a proposed amendment to the constitution would have to be moved forward. But I think this is icing on the cake. If strong bills pass the only use for this would be to bar future legislative items without another constitutional...

Re: Cities improperly posting 30.06 signs?

also, Baytown has a 30.06 posted on the door to city hall, at least as of a few months ago, the only restricted area there I believe would be the council chambers but I believe that is only when council is in session. The court building is not there. I thought it was odd because under mayor Alfaro B...

Re: Questions for OCT

OK, so the question still remains, if everything you said is true why are people spending so much time and effort in asking if they will support other bills? If I thought someone was going to do damage to my bill I sure wouldn't be calling them out for not supporting it, they just might take me up o...

Re: Questions for OCT

I don't get it, if they are everything many in here say they are and the bill they support won't get any traction then why does it seem some are pushing them to support compromise licensed open carry bills? If they are so irrelevant and caustic why call them out for not supporting other bills? From ...

denton city council plans to lobby against OC

Here you go, in what I thought was a relatively conservative part of Texas the city of Denton has declared they will lobby the legislature next session for several anti Liberty agendas including opposing open carry in "municipality owned facilities" You know, what we normally call public p...

Re: Questions for OCT

However HB195 also doesn't modify TABC 11.041, so it also appears that non-licensees would be unable to legally carry in any location with a TABC license, whereas licensees would continue to only be limited from carrying at 51% locations. Nope, see this post in this topic http://texaschlforum.com/v...
