Re: December 2014
My plastic arrived in the mail today! DPS said it was mailed on Tuesday 12/30 and it arrived today Wednesday 1/7. A full week for mailing when you exclude the New Years holiday! To recap, here is my timeline:
12/6 CHL Class
12/7 On-line Application
12/7 Uploaded CHL-100/other docs
12/8 Confirmation email
12/12 FAST Fingerprints (out of town for business caused delays in getting prints)
12/30 DPS stated license was mailed
12/31 Status change on DPS website
1/7 Plastic arrived
Not bad in my opinion since I am sure they had to do some extra checks due to my "history" even though I submitted all supporting documentation along with my CHL-100. Time from all paperwork submitted (12/12 was when print were submitted which was the last item) to the status change was 19 days and time to plastic in hand was 26 days.
Here's to those still waiting, may your plastic arrive soon!

Re: December 2014
From looking at the October, November and December "waiting" treads, it looks like the average wait time until your status changes on the website is from 18 to 19 days from the time everything is submitted. Well today is 19 days from the day that I got everything submitted and I checked the DPS website this morning and I have the option to change address, report lost/stolen etc. Woohooo!
Now I just have to wait on the plastic to arrive which will probably be next week!

Re: December 2014
Log into where you originally applied online https://txapps.texas.gov/txapp/txdps/chl/ and you should see options on the right to change address, report lost etc. under the logout button. If you just see the logout button and the " pending...." message then you are still in progress. However, some have said that they recently received their license without the status change on the website so who knows!SA_Steve wrote:When you say check daily - how do you do that now that their website does not offer that option?

Re: December 2014
There is a definite issue with the website right now - I am trying to log in (have been off and on for the last few hours) since I haven't checked status today and can't get in. Maybe they are doing maintenance - who knows!

Re: December 2014
I submitted my paperwork and supporting docs on 12/7. I was out of town the following week so I did not get finger prints done until 12/12.
Today I got a letter in the mail dated 12/10 that stated that they had no received my prints (which at that point they had not). I took this as an opportunity to call to ensure they received the prints. The nice lady I spoke with said that they had received them this morning and that the background check was underway. She said that it would be about 60 days!! - I hope that is just a canned response based on the maximum allowed time because others are getting theirs much faster!

December 2014
I will start the December waiting list. Mine should be interesting as I have some "history" - nothing that will disqualify me but will probably take a little longer.
12/6 CHL Class
12/7 On-line Application
12/7 Uploaded CHL-100/other docs
12/8 Confirmation email
12/12 FAST Fingerprints (out of town for business caused delays in getting prints)
12/31 Status change on DPS website
I will update as I get more information...
