WHERE..........
WHERE is the TSRA?
And......if they do wake up and realize this is something they should be involved in, they should get involved now, not next year!
You can see that I have removed the TSRA from my sig. My membership expires soon and I will not be renewing. The reason why is evident in this thread.

Re: A disappointing State Fair episode 10-1-09
More likely they are cutting back their useless security during the last days of the fair. No need to spend any more money for feel good appearances at this late date.
More excellent reasoning by the Management......![Rolling Eyes ](./images/smilies/icon_rolleyes.gif)

Re: A disappointing State Fair episode 10-1-09
Most probably it is not Texans doing this. It would be more likely it is Yankee Democrats that have moved into our state and think they can get away with practicing their usual mode of operation!
Same sort of mind that says buy health care or pay a fine or go to jail. If we end up being forced to pay a fine if we do not buy health care, what's next? Maybe another fine if you do not get a flu shot every year? Get the idea?
The above post is a good example of what should be used as ideas to quash this behavior, since they will not listen to the actual laws and abide by them.

Re: A disappointing State Fair episode 10-1-09
We should make this real simple, law or no law.......
You force me or any CHL holder in Texas to give up personal information in order to enter your Fair and I, my family, none of my friends and their families, none of their friends and families will attempt to attend your Fair, ever again.
Additionally, I, them and them will tell everyone we know about this foolishness even if they aren't friends!
I will get a listing of all Fair Exhibitors and inform them in writing why no one is attending the Fair and those same people that are no longer attending the Fair will no longer be shopping with them as well.
We will also use every avenue available to us to inform the General Public and ALL Public Officials why no one is attending the Fair!
BTW, I am 62 years old and I have not been to the Fair since I was 12 years old! So, if I can stay away for 50 years, I am sure others can as well and just buy more ammo and do something you really enjoy!

Re: A disappointing State Fair episode 10-1-09
My take on this is that the Fair Management have been against lawful carry of weapons at their venue from the very start of CHL in Texas.
They went so far as to advise their LEO security to enforce the policy of no guns (even for CHL's) during the last few years.
As I recall, it was brought to a head during the season last year and they gave in, in order not to loose revenue.
I suspect they have been actively working on some form of "policy" to discourage CHL holders since then and what we are seeing now is the result of their work.
Until it is shot down (no pun intended) once and for all, they will continue year by year to harass CHL holders who wish to attend the Fair.
A class action lawsuit against the Fair & Management on behalf of all CHL holders in the State of Texas sounds appropriate to me. With the right representation, it could succeed very well and send a needed message to others who try to circumvent State Law and our legal rights with regard to CHL.![thumbs2 :thumbs2:](./images/smilies/thumbsup2.gif)
