If it helps, last year my youngest went to two different pre-schools at different churches (M-W and Tu-Th). Both schools sent home a letter saying while CC was allowed (neither church prohibits carry), they asked everyone to not open carry just because it might scare some of the wee ones.
Seems to indicate they at least, didn't think they met the definition of a school as far as LTC is concerned.

Daycare's are not schools. Pre-school is also not a school. There is not case law that defines exactly what a school is, but it is generally believed to be a public school that is accredited by the Texas Education Agency or a private school that is ceritifed by the Texas Private School Accreditation Commission. I carry into my wife's work - a preschool in a church (which is not posted)- all the time. It's not a 'school' as far as the penal code is concerned.
