I stated that CZ's are best shooting handguns that I own. I didn't say that the decocker was a "big deal". I said I do not prefer mechanical safeties for tactical training and that it was a bit of a challenge. Jeez. How annoying...The Annoyed Man wrote: ↑Fri May 24, 2019 8:19 amI’ve never owned a CZ, but I did once own an HK USP Compact that was DA/SA with a decocker. The bore axis wasn’t nearly as low as a CZ's, but I didn’t find learning the manual of arms to be that big of a deal. At the time, my primary carry was a 1911, and the HK could also be carried cocked and locked - which is how I carried it initially. But it didn’t take very many repetitions to get used to carrying it decocked with the DA first pull. No idea what the DA first pull is like on a CZ, but I did swap out the HK's hammer spring for a lighter one - which did yield a lighter DA pull, without seeming to affect primer strike reliability. Anyway, my point is that retraining for a DA/SA pistol with a decocker shouldn’t be that big of a deal.Bitter Clinger wrote: ↑Thu May 23, 2019 8:22 am CZ's are the most accurate handguns I own.
The P-01 compact is very close in size and capacity to G19, although obviously the all metal construction is heavier and finding holsters is not as easy as it is for Glock. There are really nice, easily interchangeable grip sets out there and while the DA/SA is very smooth, getting used to a manual of arms that includes the decocker when drawing / reholstering during tactical training sessions is a bit of a challenge.

Re: CZ P-01
In a day long tactical session, you may draw and reholster hundreds of times. YMMV, I prefer not to have to deal with mechanical safeties. That's all.WTR wrote: ↑Thu May 23, 2019 4:29 pmI have a weapon with a decocker and I don’t understand why it would be of concern.Bitter Clinger wrote: ↑Thu May 23, 2019 8:22 am CZ's are the most accurate handguns I own.
