There is no sincere interest in a fair and honest debate that would present the viewpoint of Jewish gun owners. The Reform Movement are liberals first, Jews second.jmorris wrote:Would have been interesting if Rabbi David Bendory from Jews for the Preservation of Firearms Ownership could have been on the panel. Would have shown that not all rabbis are on their side.

Re: "Gun Violence Prevention" lecture in Dallas, March 7th
The "professor" also made a comment something along the lines of "I can understand having a pistol, but no one needs a semiautomatic weapon that with one pull of the trigger could kill half the people here in this room".Bitter Clinger wrote:Correct. The Sociologist had the potential to be an impartial purveyor of accurate data, but he failed in that regard. His bias was revealed as the evening progressed.flechero wrote:I'm streaming intermittently (bad connection) but the prof. said white gun owners are anger driven and associate crime with black and hispanics, and they look forward to using their guns against minorities.
There is nothing dumber than a Ph.D in the liberal.arts.
I checked with my wife when I got home, none of my semiautomatic killing machines got loose and ran rampant through the neighborhood slaughtering innocents. I was frankly quite relieved...

Re: "Gun Violence Prevention" lecture in Dallas, March 7th
OK. Well, Scott Lewis was outnumbered 4:1, including the moderator, the radical left wing rabbi, but he acquitted himself quite well.
The audience was likely >90℅ anti 2A and my first thought was that this did nothing to change anyone's mind, but Lewis presented as a rational, passionate moderate and did a great job of making the case for CHL holders. He refuted some of the most egregious mis-information presented by the ill informed reverand and the data challenged professor, not to mention the biased moderator.
In listening to "after action" comments, many seemed pleasantly surprised by Lewis and I heard more than once (paraphrasing) "I am not a gun person but well if all gun people were like him then I would not be so scared / anti gun". So I think Lewis accomplished as much as he could hope to in what could have been an openly hostile forum. Either he defused them or they decided not to misbehave in Temple.
Anyway, I introduced myself, sent regards from our community (of which he is a member), and no one died of cardiac arrest due to my deeply concealed 9mm Kimber Solo snuggly secured in a pocket holster in my blazer breast pocket along with 2 spare 6 round mags. Thank God!

Re: "Gun Violence Prevention" lecture in Dallas, March 7th
Most egregious and dishonest comments so far come from Rev. Edwin Robinson. He tried to make the case that CC should be illegal inside Dallas city limits because CC leads to everyone being armed and that is very unsafe. He stated that CC makes police extremely uneasy and that CC raises the risk that as a black man he will suffer at the hands of the police, especially during a traffic stop, since the police now fear that every driver is armed. Took everything I had not to speak out. He is obviously completely uneducated and speaking without any concern for facts, data, or the truth.flechero wrote:Bitter clinger- looking forward to a full debrief!!! THanks for going!

Re: "Gun Violence Prevention" lecture in Dallas, March 7th
Just a reminder, these libtards will stage their event next week. Here is the latest posting, just to make your blood boil:
I am planning to be there for when they go after Lewis. I am certain that there wil be some bad behavior!Gun Violence Reduction – Education and Advocacy
In 2013, our clergy took the lead in delivering a strong statement of sympathy for the victims of the Newtown tragedy and expressed solidarity with the then-growing movement among faith institutions to advocate for sensible gun violence regulation. At its March 2013 meeting, the Board of Trustees thoughtfully discussed and approved the Social Justice Council’s advocacy proposal regarding Gun Violence Prevention.
Temple’s advocacy position is deeply rooted in Jewish values, and is firmly in the mainstream of current Jewish thinking on the issue of reducing gun violence. Temple joins other faith based organizations, including the Religious Action Center for Reform Judaism and the Jewish Council for Public Affairs, as well as organizations representing numerous other faiths, in calling for sensible legislation that will help reduce gun violence. Our position reflects the belief that we have a genuine opportunity to influence public policy in regard to:
• Universal, meaningful background checks
• A ban on assault weapons and high-capacity magazines
• Improved access to mental health services
You can read the entire proposal here: https://www.tedallas.org/_uploads/Advoc ... _26_12.pdf
The Social Justice Council will be communicating advocacy opportunities and hosting educational programs about the relevant issues related to gun violence.

Guys, rotor wrote:Are you seriously asking me this? Do you think that it matters that it was 8 years ago or yesterday? I don't expect that the Rabbi involved will be unbiased after a concealed carrier (LEO) dropped his firearm, had a ND that 2 people were injured with, the person carrying knew that carry was not allowed. I don't expect that the moderator will have forgotten this "incident" and I don't expect that this will be anything more than a rant about gun violence. Perhaps I am wrong and perhaps this will be "fair and balanced". Perhaps I will be selling my ownership in a bridge in Brooklyn too. Perhaps falling firearms never discharge too.Pawpaw wrote:How does an 8 year old event "does not bode well for that synagogue" today?rotor wrote:Same Rabbi, same synagogue, negligent discharge, people hurt, does it matter if it was 8 years ago or yesterday? I doubt if the Rabbi moderator will be of an open mind. Also says they have a no gun policy but I don't know if they are properly posted. Did not see them on 30.06.com.Pawpaw wrote:That story is over 8 years old.rotor wrote:This story does not bode well for that synagogue.

It is actually of little or no matter. That ND is trivial compared to the over-arching far left philosophy of the Reform Movement. The Rabbi is a radical leftist and a very clever and highly influential person. His talent in herding the sheeple is frightening. He belongs to anti-Israel groups (!) and spins it such that he appears to be pro-Israel. He hosted Obama here in Dallas to celebrate the unAffordable Care Act and he preaches that all of us are racists. I have vowed never to set foot in that place again (BTW, last time I did it was posted 30.07 only) but really am tempted to go to this event to support the one pro 2A member of the panel. Any chance you and other forum members might join me?

Re: "Gun Violence Prevention" lecture in Dallas, March 7th
You are welcome to come up and stay with us! Lately Stern has been advocating for giving Constitutional RIghts to non-citizens and for taking Constitutional RIghts away from law abiding citizens. I doubt that he will moderate fairly. I would love to sit next to you in the audience - I will wear my Trump 2016 skullcap (don't worry, its in Hebrew, none of the liberals can read it...).Charles L. Cotton wrote:I hope the event is recorded so we can catch Andrea Brauer in another lie. Scott Lewis will do a good job for gun owners.
I can't understand why I was not invited!
