Did you ever shoot at Burro Canyon? I loved that place. I live in Keller now so the place you're talking about might be worth checking out for me. Thanks for the info, man.

Any Ranges that allow FMJ ammo within an hour of DFW?
Hey guys, I'm new here. I hope this isn't too off topic since it has to do with center fire rifles. Does anyone know of a range around the DFW area that allows FMJ and steel core ammo? Preferably one that also rents private lanes out to 100 yards? I moved here from California....I know, no need to say it 
....and to my surprise, it's more difficult for me to shoot here without running into restrictions. In the Socialist Republic of California, my buddies and I were able to drive an hour and shoot on BLM land in the high desert without ammo restrictions or any kind of interference. There were also ranges within an hour that rented private 100-200 yard lanes, which you managed yourself, calling your own line breaks, setting up targets when you wanted, etc. You could even bring EZ-Ups and bbq grills and make a day of it with friends and not be bothered by anyone. I have been unable to find anything even remotely close to this in Texas. I know that it's because most land in Texas is privately owned but there has to be something within a reasonable driving distance. By the way, bash on California all you want, I'm not a native of that hole. I'm from Florida and my wife is Texas born and raised.
