I heard about that situation in Fort Worth a few years ago where a guy came in and killed several church members. Even if I wasn't carrying, I'd feel comfortable knowing that some other people were.

It really depends on your church. If your pastor doesn't want you to, then look for another church or do what he says. That's my opinion since the pastor should be the last say in what goes on in the church. Church brings in some weirdos...that's just the nature of the game. My uncle is a pastor of a large church in Belton, TX. He and his wife both have CHLs and carry all the time. They're located right on I-35 and have had more than a few creeps walk in during the day that they felt uncomfortable with.
