Re: Which DA/SA gun would you carry?
Ruger P85 for many years till arthritis and age made it hard on my hands. I now carry a Taurus TH9c . After years of working at a lime kiln my hands took a beating. I feel more comfortable with Sa/Da with decocker. I know most people dislike Taurus, but I have 6 different Taurus weapons some over 20 ...

Re: Grandkids .22 rifle recommendation
My first 22 was a marlin model 80 bolt action magazine fed. My grandson's mother (my daughter)started him with a cricket . I like the bolt action single or mag fed as a starting rifle vs semi-auto. Iron sights are good start and the bolt action slows down the shooting process to allow deliberate act...

Re: Potential confrontation with crazy shooter
My wife is a great shot ( tri state champion in her teens) has her carry license, but has never been good a keeeping a gun handy. After several discussions it seems she had the mindset all the guns were mine and she just borrowed them. We went to a gun shop ,she picked out HER gun ,paid for it and k...

Forum members dog poll
Reading thru the forum posts, most of our members also seem to share a fondness for animals. I am guessing the poll percentage will be high on having a dog side. I almost called it owning a dog, but am sometimes not sure on who owns whom. LOL

Re: Home Carry?
Thanks on the dog comment. He is a true Ditch Dog ,found him on the dump road in the ditch 3 lbs. Brought him home to be mine but he adopted my wife as usual, I pity anyone who ever tries to hurt her. Vet calls him a "Great Dane Bull"

Re: Home Carry?

Re: Favorite carry method?
Vertical shoulder holster or cross draw. I am a big guy (6'4" 250)so these carry positions allow me easy access to my pistol while driving without seatbelt getting uncomfortable or intangled. Right hand Cross draw(pistol on left hip) also keeps gun away from pto, lift and loader controls on my t...

Re: Double-Action Only Semi-Automatic Pistol
SCCY CP2 is DAO internal hammer with no safety. It has double strike capabilities, hammer strikes on every trigger pull. I happen to like the SCCY pistols and have 2 of them, well made and good fit and finish.

Re: Holster part 2
IMG_1015.JPG I make my own holsters also. One trick I learned for a custom fitted holster, is use a food vacuum sealer. I put my pistol in a heavy duty plastic freezer bag, put the pistol in a dampened holster, lay holster on apiece of 1/8 rubber on the diamond side of the vacuum bag (to keep diamo...

Re: Wife needs on body carry - belly band?
Had the same problem with my wife, strong side carry on a belt on a female makes the weapon stick out.I do not like off body carry and a pistol in a purse around grandchildren made me nervous. We tried belly bands ,kangaroo carry etc none really worked for her. Finally got her to try a true gun belt...

Re: Concealed holsters
I am 6'4" 260 and carry 75% time in crossdraw holster,10% pocket carry and 15% shoulder holster. The crossdraw holster works best for me even with a large pistol (Ruger P85 18 shot magazine)
