Re: Help with name on license
Any of our resident legal beagles around ? I am calling bull on this one. First because there is not legal wording in the penal code that says this, second the LTC is tied to and has the same DL# on it, if the names didn't match like one said John Doe and another said John Smith - maybe, but James ...

Re: Help with name on license
I got DPS on the phone and they said technically speaking it has to match EXACTLY what the license says. They mentioned it shouldn't matter and that it was the officers discretion. They said I could fill out a change of address form and it would ask me to fill in my name as well. The operator said i...

Help with name on license
Ok. So, I was told by a LEO that my name on my license had to match my name on my CHL. Now let's assume my name is "John Doe Unknown." On my license it states: John Doe Unknown On my chl it states: John D Unknown He said it can be refused because of this. Is this true? He said because the ...

Re: August 2014
Here's a question where in the heck do I find my status. The page where you apply. I go there and click on the other deal and it does nothing for me. There isn't a status update anymore. The only thing you can do is call Austin or wait for the options to change your name, report a lost license, cha...

August 2014
I haven't seen a thread for August 2014 yet, so I thought I would start one. I've already received my chl, but it did help when everyone from the same month was waiting with me. Hope August is a speedy month for you guys.

Re: Century 16 theater "firearms prohibited"
Carry on! A "No Firearms" sign prohibits unlicensed handgun carry (which is illegal anyway) and prohibits carrying long guns (OCT not welcome). It has zero force with a CHL carrying a concealed handgun. When you say you "looked forever" for a 30.06 sign, I'd like to observe that...

Century 16 theater "firearms prohibited"
Ok so I was in Corpus Christi and carrying yesterday and I went to century 16 theaters. I noticed at the box where you buy your tickets it had several signs, but the only sign I saw that referred to firearms was "firearms prohibited." I didn't find any 30.06 signs anywhere and I looked for...

Re: "Waiting Room"
I sent applied and sent in all my stuff by 6/21. I figured it would take over a month but I thought there was some way to check the status after reading all the posts. When I go to the chl website and enter my DOB and license number, it comes up with nothing. Should I be concerned or call to check ...

Re: May 2014
That means you've been arrested before, files of those who have been arrested take much longer than someone who's never been arrested before. I did do a few stupid things back when I was a teenager lol but none of the chargers make me ineligible for a chl and been over 10 years so I guess I will ju...
