Just called DPS, I was so surprised that there was no waiting time at all. I went straight to a live person. I was informed my app was in background review and will take 2 weeks before I receive my chl...yea...at least I have something to go on.

We have received your CHL application and your fingerprints are in the system. However, it is too soon to verify receipt of all required support documents at this time. Documents that come through the mail sometimes take longer to reach our office in order to confirm that all your documents were received. This information was forwarded to a CHL Specialist for review and processing. If any other documents are required you will be contacted by mail.



Once all your paperwork has been received our processing staff makes every effort to complete the application as quickly as possible. It can take up to 8 weeks to completely process.

so the wait has begun...well in my mind the wait is cut in half because I work up in Alaska 2 wks on 2 wks off..haha..

well I'll be... checked my status last nite and everything is checked green, mfg pending. Less than 30 days...Ill take that...What sucks is I head back to Alaska on Wed and wont be back til July 11th...

checked late last nite and now switched to mfg... slim possibility it gets here before I leave on Wed for 2 wks... oh well..Under 30 days is still decent in my book.

plastic in hand... will wait til I get back from Alaska in July before I make my first trip with it since I leave in the morning...my holster from Stealth Gear isn't supposed to be here til end of this week or next.

One thing I can say about the whole process of obtaining a CHL: It will teaches you to be patient and how to deal with frustration.
