You will probably wish you had more space. I looked at the 24's and thought it would be enough, but I bought this... http://www.homedepot.com/p/Cannon-Scout-Series-64-Gun-59-in-H-x-40-in-W-x-29-in-D-Hammertone-Grey-Electronic-Lock-Fire-Safe-nbsp-S40-H2TEC-13/202964703 from Home Depot (it's now on sa...

Re: Revolver Recommendations?

Since OP is in Austin, thought I'd mention that GT Distributors just got in a whole bunch of used revolvers - old S&W K- and J-frames, Rugers, etc. seemed to start around $275 up to about $475 depending on your selection. Perfect. Thanks for the info. I was planning on heading there in the next...

What a crappy story! I wouldn't want to, but I'd probably have to fish it out.

Great Article... Charles Cotton, Open Carry

I have seen a few discussions about open carry in Texas, with plenty of banter on both sides. Not sure when this particular article was written, but I am glad to see some communication on the subject. It's not about having to do one or the other that I appreciate... It's the choice, depending on my ...

Re: Arlington City Council Could Ban Weapons

First, ,if you are familiar with Texas politics, you know that the legislative session is a very short time window every other year. Effective lobbying recognizes the need to focus efforts on one or two major bills. One cannot tackle everything all at once. Recent sessions have seen NRA/TSRA effort...

Re: Arlington City Council Could Ban Weapons

Open-carry bills have not been filed "every session for the last 10 years." Only two bills have been filed (2011 and 2013) and neither were NRA bills. NRA and TSRA testified in favor of HB700 in 2013, but that was the extent of our support. It wasn't our bill and we don't do a full court ...

Re: Glock Decisions

If you go with the G19 all of your G23 holsters will work with the G19. That is one thought that I am considering, but not a deal breaker for me. If you want a G22 you have more options at lower prices than the GSSF coupon. There are a lot of G22 3rd gen police trade-ins available for $360sh. Summi...

Glock Decisions

I've got my GSSF pistol purchase coupon burning a hole in my pocket. I've already got a G23 and a M&P40 and I've been thinking about diversifying into a 9mm. Any recommendations from someone that has shot both a G17 and G19? I'm also thinking if I don't go 9mm, the G22 might be my choice. Any th...

Re: "Austin" gun show in Cedar Park - feedback?

Has there been another show since last year? The Cedar Park center is posted 30.06 (checked recently). That's my only "recent" comment. I went to last year's show. It was decent and I didn't see any outrageous prices. Larger than the Saxet show in Dripping Springs a couple months ago. FYI...

Instructor Residency Requirements?

Quick question on residency requirements for becoming a CHL Instructor... Do you have to establish residency in TX prior to, or could you become an instructor and establish residency at a later date. Understand that you can only instruct in TX for it to be valid.

Thanks... Getsome

I'll be darned. I didn't know they made tactical cups for picatinny rails. Can you get one with a laser/flashlight combo or a doughnut holder? http://shop.battlemug.com/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; I can't believe that for $189 the carry handle isn't included. :nono:

Re: NRA Recertification Future Requirements

I'm afraid if I have to also teach a periodic formal NRA class (and can find students for it), keep up my NRA certs, take NRA renewal classes/training , take DPS renewal classes/training -- there are starting to be too many hoops to jump through to justify continuing CHL instruction. I don't believ...
