I love how they point out that "usually the gun comes from the home, or a relative, or a friend's relative." Meaning a person stole it from someone who is legally able to possess a gun, and a background check would not have prevented the shooting because criminals don't follow the laws.

There's also no evidence yet that the owner of the gun didn't have a background check. For all we know, they could have bought it through an FFL and had a background check run and it came back good.
