They did the same to me. I thought it was odd.
I think that it is much more likely that as the law requires you to show BOTH your DL and CHL when carrying, that they were simply requesting them both.

Name, DOB, address, picture, DL number, etc.
Wondered if you meant that. Nope, don't agree with that then. I'll agree with all except for the address as there is simply no requirement listed anywhere that says that your DL and CHL address must be the same. I'll agree that they both must be your legal address, but as I explained here, someone can have two different legal addresses:

And someone else there also offered up another example (LEOs having different addresses for their protection).
