Re: LTC Instructor schedule. What day for you?
Ok good. How long did it take to get that email after selecting your class date?

Re: LTC Instructor schedule. What day for you?
I'll be doing the Monday, 8/14 am class. After you request the date will they send you any other info or confirmation? I'm hesitant to book my hotel until I get something to be sure they got my date request.

Re: How to Handle Student's Failed Proficient Test
Sorry to revive an older thread, but I'm surprised to see so few student failures for other instructors. Maybe just a difference in volume of students? I work in a decently sized gun range in a large city and my classes range from 15-30 students once or twice a week. I have at least one failed shoot...

Re: On Target Range on fire.
If it's an indoor range it's possible that someone was shooting steel cased ammo. The steel core can spark when it hits the ground and there's usually gun powder residue I the ground and it can ignite and spread extremely fast. That's why most indoor ranges don't allow steel cased ammo. They aren't ...

Thank you all for your tips and encouragement. I'm looking forward to the class. I'm taking it with my boss so it's a bit of added pressure.

Re: Chl instructor course 8/8-10
Thanks so much yall. I'm excited but I tend to overthink things and make myself nervous. Thankfully I work at a gun range, so practice is pretty easy to come by. So far using DA on the 686 with .38 and a full size 9mm semi I've been getting a 250 on practice drills. I just get to a point where my tr...

Re: new NRA instructor here (basic pistol)
Keep in mind that you can list non NRA courses to keep up your certification. Shortly after I got my NRA basic pistol certification I got a job at a gun range. We don't offer NRA courses, and I can't take customer information to list courses to keep up my credentials, so I list any friends that I te...

Chl instructor course 8/8-10
I'm taking the chl instructors course in Georgetown September 8-10. What can I expect? How many students are in the class? Are there many women (I'm a woman so I'm curious if I'll be one of few)? Is it more pressure than a regular chl course? The one I took was pretty relaxed and I scored 100 on wri...

planning to take chl instructor course
Hello. I'm looking into becoming a chl instructor. Am I understanding correctly that I have to be an instructor before I can apply for the chl instructors course? Sometime next month I plan to take the course to become a basic pistol instructor and the owner of the gun range I will likely be teachin...

considering becoming a certified instructor
I have been shooting for over a year now and have had my chl since May. I've become very much an advocate for gun rights and as a woman, I'm encouraging other women to try shooting. I now have 2 friends wanting their chl, and several others that want me to take them to the range to teach them to sho...

Re: Is Open Carry Activism Threatening our CHL rights.
This may be unpopular but has anyone everthought that maybe Open Carry Texas is a ruse and they are working hand in hand with Moms Demand Action and Bloomberg? Has crossed my mind, especially when you see how some of these guys carry their rifles (remember the Chipotle guys) and how they are just d...

$.50 carry purse
I got a few different purses at a garage sale for $.50 each this weekend to try and make my own carry purse. I was looking for something with a compartment big enough to hold my sig p238 and still have other pockets for my cell phone, keys, and the thin wallet I made just for chl, dl, and my debit c...

Re: Question about gun possession for holster making...
Thank you all for your comments and support. I did hear back from my lawyer and he said that I would not need an FFL to take temporary possession of the guns. I will be picky about who I make holsters for and am right now working with a few guys from a local gun range to make them holsters. They sug...
