rick fortworth wrote:screw this i give up. i will no longer check the chl website 50 times a day for updates or come back to this forum to see who else got theirs until i have my plastic in hand...i dont even care anymore

ok fine maybe i will just check one more time today.
Patterson is right.

Don't worry yourself with checking all day long. Learn from what we have done. I wish I had known without a doubt that it will not update throughout the day or at night. I would have got much more work done.

It updates around 6am. Check it once a day around that time and move on until the next morning

Application : Received
Fingerprints : Complete
Affidavits : Received
DL or ID : Valid
Citizenship : No documentation required
Passport photo holder : Received
Photo : Received
Proof of Classroom training : Received
Proof of Proficiency training : Received
Fee : Received
Background Check : Under review
Concealed Handgun License : Print pending completion of application review

:thumbs2:

It updates around 6am. I had 3 updates. I checked them every time before I went to bed, I checked again when I got to the office (530), no updates

every time I checked at 630 the update appeared.

I'm rather confident the updates happen between 530a and 630a

Initial application: 3 Feb 14
Documents submitted online: 10 Feb 14

I also called Friday, 7 March for my 30-day status update, and the lady I spoke with said "they were still going through January's applications," so take that for what it's worth.
This came up overnight:

Application : Received
Fingerprints : Complete
Affidavits : Received
DL or ID : Valid
Citizenship : No documentation required
Passport photo holder : Received
Photo : Received
Proof of Classroom training : Received
Proof of Proficiency training : Received
Proof of Special Condition : Received
Fee : Received
Background Check : Under review
Concealed Handgun License : Print pending completion of application review

So this system does update overnight because I checked around 730pm or so yesterday. 40 days from DPS receipt of materials to background review....should be soon now.
I've been under review for my background check since last Friday, and was wondering what the hold up for me is since most other February applicants seem to have gotten theirs completed in a day or two. I have a clean record (save for a ticket for doing a California Stop at a stop sign), been in the same house for the last five years, and recently passed an instant background check when purchasing a handgun within the last two weeks....should I be concerned?

I don't think you should be. I've had some traffic tickets within last few years.

I've moved around a lot the last few years, only a few months at current location.

Didn't have any problems
Trashy,

I'll add that my wife submitted hers on same day, never had a traffic ticket in her life or any other issues at all and her status hasn't updated all.

Like I've said before. There doesn't appear to be any real method to how they do things.

Today it changed to mailed.

So 29 days for any change to status on website, went from man pending to mailed in 1 day. 30 days total.

I'd like to say that it appears they're speeding things up a bit but my wife submitted info on the same day and there has been no status change to hers.

no rhyme or reason to their process.

And for those staying up late checking their status, each time mine changed it was around 6 in the morning when the website updated, so get some sleep :)
I don't think they are speeding things up im at day 42 and no change on site

agreed. Wife is at 30 days without any change and other like yourself even longer.

Makes no sense

Submitted all docs online on Feb 24

29 days to change on line

Status changed this morning some time between 7a and 8a. I checked at 530a when I woke up and again about 630a when I got to office and nothing. So it can change in the morning and not always overnight
