Re: January 2014
Just a quick note about customer service of DPS.
I sent two requests a week apart for verification that materials were at least received. I had no intention of these requests making any impact, but it made me feel better to at least be able to act.
The response to the first request came a few days after my online update. Standard form letter saying wait 8 weeks, blah blah.
The response to my second request came this morning. Keep in mind my status update to mailed on 3/1...
"Thank you for using the Regulatory Services Division’s website. Our records indicate your application has not began the process"
.
.
.
"Right now it takes 8-10 weeks for our office to confirm receipt of your mailed in or emailed materials. It is normal for you not to see a status of your documents being received online for the 8-10 week timeframe. Once we enter your documents in our system and begin processing, you will see status change on the online status check."
So just an FYI, your emails fall on deaf ears, in my experience. They don't even LOOK. If the gentleman who sent me this response this morning had taken a couple of seconds he could have saved himself a few seconds of copying and pasting his canned response. I don't know why I expect government services to be any better than fast food service, but it really bothers me when people are so jaded they don't even do their jobs.
If you are really concerned, call and hope you get a caring representative.

Re: January 2014
I feel bad posting this while so many others have heard nothing, but I was updated to mailed on 3/1. I assume that means it was sent the day before since that was a Saturday?
I wouldn't have expected this, but the wait between being updated to mailed and plastic has so far been worse that the wait for them to start processing my app. Hoping to have my permission slip from uncle Tex in my mailbox today...

Re: January 2014
Don't want to drag this off topic, but if you have not found a good IWB yet, I would check out the Comp-Tac MTAC.Ryansdaddy wrote:Next it is off to find a IWB holster for my weapon that is comfortable to wear over long periods of the day.

Very pleased with mine.

Re: January 2014
Wow! Congrats! No such luck here. Status update same day as you, but BG still under review. No criminal history excluding 3 or 4 moving violations in my life (a couple were deferred), 3 addresses in the same county over the last 10 years. I don't mind, though. At least I know they have all my paperwork, so I can breathe easy.jerseytexan wrote:First Update & manufacture pending 2/25. Mailed 2/26.

Re: January 2014
Guess I just needed to get online and talk about it to get the ball rolling...

Never did get an email back on my requests, maybe that just kicked it loose?

Re: January 2014
First time poster, just adding my two cents:
Submitted docs via snail mail 1/13/2014, received per tracking information on 1/15/2014. No update online, nor response from DPS on requests for confirmation of receipt on 2/17/2014.
I am curious to see if the rapid turn around for some of you who submitted online carries over to those of us in the stone age. (In my defense I thought that I had read somewhere that online submission was for renewals only.)
Good luck and happy waiting, all.
Jesse
