Re: Great-Granny's old .22's
You can get a replacement magazine from Numrich Gun Parts for that M42 that includes the .22 Short screw: https://www.gunpartscorp.com/ad/68210.htm#68210A Thanks on the m42 find, that is a good price compared to what I've seen. Hard to find parts. It's missing peep sights also, and a few other part...

Re: Great-Granny's old .22's
Thanks for all the advice. Maybe I should check with a gunsmith. Here it is. Jc Higgins Sears and Roebuck 10313. Pretty rusted and she carved a symbol into both sides of the stock.

Great-Granny's old .22's
I have a question on two old rifles I inherited. Assuming these two guns are cleaned up (as good as possible) should I shoot them, and can I use .22 LR in them? I can order .22 longs from CCI but they are rare. 1. 1920's Jc Penney Marlin 81 bolt action single shot. 2. Early 1940's Mossberg M42 7 rou...

Re: How's Your Weekend Going?
It's been a great weekend, but an expensive one. My daughter had to come to Forth Worth for state academic tourney. Now, we are about to go to the zoo, and all the restaurants and mall shopping (scary).

I'm about to go to the Fort Worth Zoo, and my wife has already informed me that I cannot carry, via the website.

Re: Can I carry at work?
One of the interesting things at work is that we are going through an integration with a larger company. The CEO has changed , and even the HR group locally don't abide by the dress codes anymore. I am not sure anyone knows the actual rules, or who enforces them. There will most likely be a new hand...

Re: Carry while doing yard work
Wow, that is sad. Mowing the lawn is even risky. I've never had my wallet while mowing, or working in the yard. I've never thought about carrying while mowing either, but now...?

Re: Bloomberg's fool's errand to blow $50M against NRA.
I've never understood how guns are the problem, or any tool for that matter. He should spend fifty million to help with youth programs in his area. Helping high risk individuals and poverty stricken youths would be a great way for him to help. Maybe it would help keep kids off the streets, and keep ...

That is a great looking gun. The grip looks nice. Why do you shy away from used guns? Previous situations or just want new?

I went to the doc for a routine physical recently, and they admitted some of the invasive questioning was a result of the health care act.

Re: Syria, Syria, what about Fukushima
I think that Fukushima is so big and bad why worry. I told my dad and sister to get out of California, but I think the beautiful beaches and palm trees distract them. The Pacific may suffer, and who knows how far reaching the effects could be. Maybe it's all hype?

Re: Homemade leather holster advice needed
This is my first attempt to make any leather item, or holster. I obviously need to sand it down even, stitch, snaps etc. I found a local leather shop that has everything, and bought some tools. This is my Shield 9 mm pattern I made.
Re: To Texans
We are much more prepared today, but as long as nobody gets in between us and our recliners we are ok.

Re: Advice on gun belts
I'm back in the market too. I bought a Foxx Belt. It was kind of ugly, but that's not why I sent it back. The belt was too thick for most of my pants, and too stiff for me. I know it is supposed to be stiff (that's the point right), but it actually caused my gun to print a lot more, and it looked li...
