Re: Deadline for class
But, a person can pay online Jan. 2, 2014 & wait until Dec. 31, 2014 to send their documents if they chose & they'll be ok. I promise this is the reality. Yes, it has always been 1 year. But, again, where is it in the admin code? Cause, if it's not in there, they can choose to continue to h...

Re: Deadline for class
Well... I just sent an email to the DPS's RSD director asking for clarification (Regulatory Services Division). Once I get a response from her, I'll post exactly what she says about this... Matt P.S. Crossfire, I got my initial CHL from you. It was a great class, soooo much better than my renewal. I...

Re: Deadline for class
The CHL-100 is good for 2 years, the online payment is good for 1 year. The 90 day thing is if someone sent an incomplete app & they get a written notice to send docs, get new prints, etc. They have 90 days to correct their app or else it gets terminated & they must start over from scratch....

Re: Deadline for class
I just opened my class notes and instructor materials provided in class (Jan. CHL Instructor class). The State application is now only to be stored for 90 days. By rule, under certain circumstances, the application can be extended for an additional 90 days. The CHL-100 is good for two years. Sherrie...

You CAN still s-mail it in, if you're a fan of old technology… ) I am a friend of snail mail; :cheers2: But not like the Pony Expreess they use . It's funny you say that and knock the Pony Express on April 3, it's founding day in 1860... I heard that anniversary earlier tonight on "Texas...

After re-reading this thread, there are quite a few things that need to be discussed... It's 6am and I don't have time right now. I'll be back later...

Re: Drinking while "Carrying"
If you have any alcohol in your system you're in jeopardy of: 1.) Going to jail for unlawful carry 2.) If a self defense situation arises (shooting): a.) Enduring a vigorous prosecution that potentially wouldn't of happened otherwise b.) Civil lawsuits (If you are justified in shooting a perp, that ...

Re: Local WalMart has Varget
Interesting, I never would of thought WM would carry reloading supplies.
I however must ask about the prices? I'm curious if their bulk buying abilities resulted in lower prices.
Any examples of prices you could share?
Thanks

Walgreens and not WalMart? Walgreens is so much smaller.
You cheated on your first "Wally-Walk" :-) .
Anyhow, congrats on the license

Re: Fingerprints
If I understand what you're asking correctly, you need to enter the Texas Trace number the state gave you. It's the number under the bar code on the receipt you printed (if you did print it). It should be a 13-didgit alpha-numeric tracking ID. If you log back into the state's site (using DL, SSL, an...

Re: Texas I D validity
The email address I have for instructors to ask ?'s of DPS gets it returned as Invalid address.. If you are from the Jan. class, the emails posted on screen were invalid. Instead of a ".us", it needs to end in a ".gov". This was addressed only on the final day (end of third rela...

Re: Legal Disclaimer Thoughts?
jmra, Thanks for the reply. I can't disagree with your advice at all... However, the legal terms "Reasonably" and "Necessity" go into a grey area... The definition of terms such as those become subjective. As litigious as society has become, I thought it would be best to create a...

Something such as this sounds a little course....
"At no time do I offer legal advice. Every situation is different. My opinions on any legal matter are merely that, ‘opinions’."
Not sure if I should even bother with something like this...

Legal Disclaimer Thoughts?
Hello all, I'm a new CHL instructor and am currently finishing up my website. During my CHL course, I would like to be able to discuss current cases in the news as how they relate to Texas law (whether or not "I" bring it up). However, I'm not a lawyer. My opinion is just that, an opinion....

Re: Anybody else having trouble with RSD?
Specifically, I mean under 500k in size. If I recall correctly, scanning at 300dpi is what did the trick.
