Re: Argyle ISD School Employee Carry

Do signs and media work...you bet they do. While conducting research during my Graduate work I interviewed several inmates in prison and they told me that it does work. They said that if they even thought for one second that the target was armed, they would move on to the next one, this includes homes/offices. Signs and media are but one part of the program, faculty training, emergency response, first aid, force on force scenarios, combat mindset, SA, just to mention a few. Will the armed faculty become experts in 3 days...no, but they will be prepared. There is confirmatory evidence that the CO theater shooter passed up 3 x theaters because they did not have "Gun Free Zone" posted.

I'd be more than happy to send you the contact information for the Superintendent and Head of Security at our local ISD (about 15 minutes south of Argyle) if you want to do some marketing.

Question: How did this program in Argyle get started? Was it the ISD that was the catalyst or did some parent group get things going? I'm interested in any insight into the political process that might help me make some inroads here. My brief conversation with the local Superintendent was less than promising.

Welcome to the forum. :tiphat:
Thanks, a pleasure to be here. I am not here to market, I want folks informed and raise situational awareness. This a'int rocket science and I have a program that works and spent years refining NOMW. Argyle conducted a security evaluation immediately following Sandy Hook and after seeing my program they wanted to integrate NOMW for safety and security. It is a process, but once I sit down with leadership and LE to brief an overview of the program, they get it. I have not had one school district say this is not a good plan, they just choose not to implement at this time. However, we all think about it and speak in our circles, but no one has bought it out in the open so to speak…until I arrive.

Hope this helps.

Keep in mind, this is not the "Marshall" program but a process that I developed some time ago and is now being implemented. I wrote the standards, employee interview, recommended a psych eval, and conduct the firearms training. The firearms training consist of 3 Days, 30 hours, 900 rounds, must pass the standards shooting test, and conduct force on force training with Air Soft in a school setting. This program is ongoing for the personnel that meet the standards and the Superintendent will manage their program. I recommend continued education, shooting every quarter and recommend that the students shoot the standards semi-annually. My intent for this program is to keep our children and faculty safe. Armed faculty is a contingency, if implemented correctly with signs and media, the bad guys pass on by.
Welcome to the forum - hope to here more about the program.
