[pre-paid legal] will cover you any place you can lawfully carry. That is quite a bunch of places.TomsTXCHL wrote:I didn't and am glad for it. We took our class early Oct, applied for the CHL the next week, and are STILL WAITING on our plastic!!!Blue Demon wrote:We signed up with [Pre-paid legal service] the day we took our CHL class.
No need for [pre-paid legal] I think unless you're actually carrying!?

Re: CHL Insurance
Why would I ask my agent? You posted, in a thread about CHL insurance, that you have a liability policy. That might lead one to believe you are suggesting it cover you for a shooting. I have no idea if it does or not, so I am asking you.Oldgringo wrote:Ask your agent.jbarn wrote:Does it cover attorney fees for criminal defense?Oldgringo wrote:I have a Liability Umbrella policy attached to my Home Owner's policy. Supposed to....who knows, until it's put to the test? Insurance companies and lawyers are all about their pockets and really don't give a whit about yours. IOW, "you'se pays your money and you'se takes your chances".
I am of the strong suspicion it will not cover legal fees for criminal acts/charges.

CRIMINAL legal fees?rdcrags wrote:My State Farm agent tells me that if Zimmerman has a State Farm homeowners policy like mine, he is being covered up to $1,000,000 worth of legal fees. I paid maybe $20 per year extra premium to go from $500,000 to $1,000,000.

Re: CHL Insurance
There are several programs. I am aware of two right now that cover all legal fees up to and including trial. One is a law firm and they use mostly in house lawyers in Texas and contract attorneys out of state. Covers civil and criminal and all attorneys fees. The other pays fees for you and you choose your attorney. The Last Boyscout wrote:The last gun show i was at there was a guy at a table selling insurance that would pay all leagl fees up to the the point a Grand Jury "No-billed" you. I think ot was about $129.00 a year(where did that brochure get off to?) Anyhow has anyone heard of this or does anyone have it?
Without knowing more about the program you saw it is impossible to really know.
