Re: my gf and her outlook on guns
Oh she has done it now. I just don't know what I'm going to do now. She pulled money out of savings to get me on a deer lease.

Re: my gf and her outlook on guns
Thanks for the tips.....but we have tried them.
If she is going to shoot competition other than steel, she needs a 9mm or bigger.

Re: my gf and her outlook on guns
Tried it. Het fingers are to short to wrap around the grip fully therefore jabbing the palm of her weak hand.
My Kahr p9 fits her great but she can't rack the slide.

Re: my gf and her outlook on guns
Well.......
She got a 213 on her shooting portion and I got a 249 for my renewal. She had ZERO misses.
We are both proud of her.
Now I just gotta get her signed up on here.

my gf and her outlook on guns
My how things are changing.
When we met she knew little of guns. She didn't dislike them but was scared of them due to the lack of knowledge. I've shot competition and carried for years.
In the beginning she would ask a lot of questions about why I liked them so much and why I carried. She became very curious. Then she asked to go to the range with me. Now she asks me to take her shooting and even want to compete.
In the (almost) 2yrs we have been together.... I gave her her first gun. It started as a night stand gun that she now claims as hers....an older Taurus 38 that she shoots very well. Then she said she wanted her own pump shotgun so we went and got her a 20ga REM 870. Then she shot my buckmark plus UDX and now I'm lookin for its replacement because she now owns that one too. And we are looking for suitable competition set up for her. She is 4'11" with tiny hands and it has been nearly impossible to find one that works for her.
She has come a VERY long way in that she was ALWAYS in condition white even when my needle was pushing red. She was oblivious to ANYTHING that was going on around her. Now she pays attention and aware of her surroundings at all times....and even brags to me about picking up on subtle things she never noticed before. She also FINALLY realized the dangers of not having a clue as to where you are and why she should pay attention to the area she chooses to stop and get gas or a soda. Oak Cliff is not a safe place for to stop.
Upcoming events include....taking her CHL class this coming Saturday and next month she will go to shoot her first competition..Cross Timbers Steel Match.....and possibly IDPA or USPSA in the near future.
I would also like add this wonderful Lady that I have been blessed with has never, I say again, NEVER complained about a single gun related purchase.....not even the SV Infinity I'm putting on order.
I still swear she is an Angel sent from above.
Did I mention that she is 12 years younger than me?
On a side note....my 14 and 15yo girls will be shooting steel with us too. One has a Ruger mkiii 22/45 and the other has a slab side Buckmark. I sure am glad that 22lr is still relatively cheap.
