Philosophically, I'm with you. But if I was going to the fair, I'd just declare my gun and go through the procedure. It doesn't seem like a whole lot.

No way am I going to walk through a metal detector while carrying a gun and trust to just playing dumb.

I'd like to but I've still got some medical issues to work through from my surgery last month. I've been feeling better the last couple of weeks, but I've still got a long way to go before I'm back to a semblence of normal.

BTW, I was definitely in fear for my life prior to going into surgery. But I knew it was not reasonable to employ deadly force. (Besides, the hospital was posted with compliant 30.06 signs.)

I can't find the statute at the moment, but I have a pretty good recollection that you CAN'T carry at the state fair.

But I could be wrong. I think we need TXI to weigh in on this one.
