I find myself more and more concerned about the areas we fail to protect and the target it creates - namely places with high numbers of children and very low resistence - if any - to an attack. An elementary school or a YMCA offers the nut or terrorist a VERY easy target with the added advantage of striking at the highest fear of our population, the safety of our children. Why private and government policies insure and advertise this vulnerability is truly beyond me. I have never heard of a hostage situation taking place at a gun range or police station, but school shooting is almost an annual event. I doubt that is a coincidence.

You could never test this theory, but I would bet a business that advertised "All licensed gun carriers welcome - the more the merrier" or better yet "10% off for all licensed gun carriers" would be extremely secure from the nut or terrorist.

They would just go down to the local public school instead.
