understood... perhaps some creative folks could design some type of concealed carry system for use on bikes that would be both functional and discreet at the same time.

Probably a lot of money to be made if they did...

If I or anyone I ride with showed up with a fanny pack on a ride they would be questioned unmercifully..
So what... if your riding companions ask you why you have it you can choose to either tell them or not. If you tell them and they are upset because you're carrying a gun then perhaps you need to find some new friends or riding companions.

I wouldn't let the opinion of my friends keep me from being able to protect myself, family, or even my riding buddies if need be.

Just my 2¢ worth...

I ride 20 -30 miles a day on a bike. Now most of that is on one of our mountain style bikes but when we do ride street bikes (once or twice a week) we still carry.

We all use fanny packs and just swing them behind us when were riding (the way they were originally meant to be used back when they were invented in the 70s - hence the name "fanny packs") and once we stop we just slide them back to the front - takes about 1/2 a second. You can also ride with them in the front of you like but it's just not as comfortable. I think the most we rode in one day with them was about 40 miles and didn't have any problems. We carry full size Glocks and Sigs, extra mags, OC spray, cuffs, phones, etc.

You can just as easily become a victim of crime on a bike as you can anywhere else so be prepared and stay safe.
