Well, I guess I am guilty of that. Too bad.pbwalker wrote:Well, if you want to base an entire country off of one person, that's fine.
You do of course know who General Chiang Kai-shek was?pbwalker wrote:To broaden horizons, learn about another culture, see how the "other side" lives, and all that goes along with it. I'd jump at an opportunity to go to China (inland China, not just HKG). If you refused to go, how do you know their food "sucks"? Surely you are not basing it on the "Wok on Wheels" (or other local Chinese food places) menu?anygunanywhere wrote:My employer was going to send me to Commie China. That is why I stopped traveling. I refuse to go. Their food sucks. Pollution is worse than anywhere in USA. No Catholic churches. No guns.

The church you are referencing is the catholic (little c) church authorized by the commie government. It is not the legitimate Catholic Church faithful to the worldwide Catholic Church founded by Jesus Christ.steveincowtown wrote:Not sure what a royal Emperor is thinking on this.

Thursday's event will "underscore the importance of study abroad in China and the benefits to our strategic relationship with China as well as the personal benefits individuals receive through these exciting experiences," the news release said.
Hey, my son studied in China, and I can assure you, he's no commie. Not that I support anything coming from the Criminal in Chief, who no doubt has ulterior motives for this proposal, but it seems like we'd want to have lots of people who can read and write Chinese. And really, today's China isn't all that much different from Obama's America, excepting perhaps it's maybe a little more free.
