LEO finding any excuse to initiate a traffic stop has absolutely nothing to do with the idea that you give the state PC to initiate the stop just by possessing a state issued license.

Violating an individuals fourth amendment rights by making up an excuse is wrong no matter what the alleged offense. The state enacting legislation for tiny infractions like not using turn signals just to give LEO a reason to initiate stops is wrong and unconstitutional, IMHO.

Just because you break a traffic law does not give PC to do anything other than write a ticket.

Yes, if I have a city permit for an alarm I will allow LEO to enter my home to search for burglars. That does not mean LEO can turn on my computer and search it or go through my stuff. Just because they are in my house my fourth amendment rights still exist.

Same situation with TX Parks and Wildlife....you got a huntin license....you have given consent to search your vehicle, residence,etc.......at any point, anytime that your license is in effect.
You may think so, but this is not true.

If it were true then my League City security alarm would allow the police to enter my home without a warrant.

That he wrote you a ticket (rather than issue a warning) for this shows the difference between yesteryear's peace officer and today's law enforcement officer.

And it's a good example of why respect for those who wear a badge is eroding. :frown5:
Respect for those who draft, pass, enact, and interpret laws should be eroding faster by orders of magnitude.

Nope. Pretty sure they can't. They might make up some obscure reason or dig up some far-out law the legislature passed like license plate frames or front license plates but they do have to have Probable Cause to pull you over.
