Now that Jweaver has his, and Slobber's is on the way -- is anybody else who applied in October still waiting?
I want to hang around until everybody finally has it.

After not hearing anything and calling and being told they lost my documents, I also called my representative and got a call from DPS. The lady I spoke with said they did have my documents and it looked like it only had a few more days to be complete. Still no updates online though. I will call again in a week if I don't get it or an update. I heard some never got an update but did get the license.
Good For You !!!!

Re: October Applications
I'm sorry to hear what happened, but am glad you finally got it resolved. Congratulations.texsanlaura wrote:Application & all required documents submitted: 10/17/13
After several calls to DPS, I broke down and finally called my state representative.
After a couple days waiting, I received a call Saturday from the CHL division.
After I explained my situation to him, he told me that a large number of applications submitted online were lost.
He said this was caused by an overwhelming amount of applications in September/October. Apparently their electronic mailbox was "full" and any applications that were received after it was full, were just lost.
He also said that the people answering the phones do not know this type of information, which explains why I kept getting the same response from them saying to give it more time.
Talk about frustrating.![]()
After we spoke, I emailed my documents to him and by the next day, my status was changed to "print pending...".
So, if you have been waiting over 90 days, I would recommend contacting someone at the DPS and sending in your application again.
I really hope there are no more October applications waiting. If there are, do what texsanlaura did.
I think us October applicants really did have the hardest time. September got 30 day processing times, with one stating it was 16 days. We watched the processing time grow to 40, 60, 80, and 90 days. It always seemed to keep just ahead of us. Now November applicants are seeing the time go down again.
I sincerely hope any October folks left get sorted out by DPS for immediate handling. Good luck to you all.
Yes, I got mine Saturday. But I keep coming back here in hopes all other October folks also get thiers.

Re: October Applications
I just received it in the mail today.
It took 88 days since my final documents were received, and a total of 102 days.
I don't have a problem with how long it took, but I never should have had to wait 77 days to find out for sure they had everything at the 1st update.
Yes, I sent the documents certified, like many others. But that signature only meant that someone, somewhere received them.
They still could have been delivered to the wrong place. It's not like the Post Office never mis-delivered anything.
Also; it never showed they actually received the fingerprints.
I really think they owe us an initial update so we know they actually got everything. Then it would be easier to wait.

Re: October Applications
I am having a very good morning today !!!
The Good News
Yesterday my status changed to "Manufacturing Pending", and this morning it changed to "Mailed".
86 days since mailing my package, and 100 days total. Mail delivery should be quick, I only live 25 miles from Austin.
The Really Good News
I didn't expect to be able to carry this week, and was unsure of the coming weeks.
Tuesday, I had cataract and astigmatism surgery on my left (Dominant) eye. Also a lens implant to correct distance vision.
I expected a week recovery, and my surgeon said my near vision would probably be somewhat worse due to the lens implant.
I am having my right eye done in February, and won't get new reading glasses (which I have been using to shoot for 3 months) until March. That made me unsure whether I would be able to focus on my sights well enough to shoot.
This morning my vision is starting to clear. Strangely, my close vision is better than it's been in 20 years.
I can read business cards and see my gun sights clearly. Hope it stays that way, then I will be able to shoot with no glasses, except for safety glasses.

Re: October Applications
Well;
I see there are no "November" posters today.
I know there are at least two besides myself (Slobber and JWeaver). There very well may be others.
My application has now been pending background review for six days. I assume Slobber and JWeaver are the same, if not longer.
Meanwhile, I see the November applications continue to process on to manufacturing and mailing.

Slobber,Slobber wrote:I have been watching everyone for a while and kept getting excited that you all got updates. I did my paperwork on October 21st and not even an update yet. I checked the November crowd and they have been getting updates. Mine must be lost in the shuffle...
You need to know you're not alone. I did mine October 28th, one week after you.
until now, I thought I was the only one who got passed up.
I did get an update on 14 January, but it's just been sitting there for the past four days.
On the positive side - back in November/December there were several people that posted they received their plastic without ever getting a single update. I had the notion that different people were processing the applications than those that were updating the computer. Then again, maybe not.

Re: October Applications
Documents were submitted 10/28.
My status has been "Pending Review" for three days.
During that time I have seen a lot of November applications go to "Manufacturing", "Mailed", or "license in Hand".
What's with that ??

Re: October Applications
I asked this before because it's a little confusing, but never really got an answer.
Are most of you counting the turnaround time from the initial application (85 Days for me) or when all documents were received by DPS (71 Days) ?
It's hard to believe the process time was under 30 days when I first applied.
