For the situations that I carry the LCP .22 LR (gym or BUG), it's perfect. It's small, lightweight, but still easy to shoot (because of the smaller cartridge). I can easily hit what I'm aiming for within bad breath distance repeatedly and quickly. Think 5-10 rounds grouped into something the size of a grapefruit. One thing about the LCP is that it's finicky with ammo. But Federal Punch is purportedly a good round in .22, it's fairly cheap, and it has been reliable.JRG wrote: ↑Mon Jun 10, 2024 12:07 pm Thanks Jose, that .22LR LCP II is the one I was pocketing during her rehab. While I enjoyed it, I want a larger caliber. I have a 642 in .38 special and could carry that. I just wish it had boot grips. The grips it came with are the three fingered wood ones. It pokes out of my jeans pockets. If I cannot find a suitable pocket 9mm, I may just see about getting boot grips for the 642. I have never tried, but I assume I can order a set?

For something in a larger cartridge I like my LCR in .38/.357 or my Glock 43 in 9mm. But but they are heavier and recoil can be an issue.
