Thought I pass along the following information I received from Michigan Coalition for Responsible Gun Owners:
Michigan will recognize her Texas CHL for 6 months here. After that time or by the time she registers to vote here or obtains a Michigan's driver's license, she'll have to go through a class in Michigan and apply for her Michigan CPL. Note that it can take up to 6 months to get a CPL in Michigan depending on which county she is moving to. We suggest she take the class and apply as soon as she moves here in order to keep continuity of her license from Texas. Michigan won't accept Texas training because a large part of our pistol safety training is based on Michigan law.

Re: Michigan to Texas - CHL Question
I know this thread is older. My question is going the other way. My daughter has a Texas CHL and is moving to Michigan. I don't expect you all to know Michigan law, but when she moves to MI, she will no longer be a Texas "resident". Would her Texas CHL be automatically null and void or can we convert it to "non-resident"?
Michigan does honor the Texas CHL and obviously we have people in Texas that get non-resident licenses from other states.
I do have a question into a Michigan group for some other clarification points, but thought I'd throw it out to you guys too.
Thanks
