2023 Pro Gun legislation?
Haven't seen any mention of any pro-gun legislation. Things like reducing off limits locations for License holders, carry in 51% locations specifically. Anything interesting happening this session?

Re: Does the TABC Mobile App work anymore?
Very disappointing... I Used this often. Just checked and it does not appear to work. Hope it gets worked out and comes back.Scott in Houston wrote: ↑Sun Oct 10, 2021 7:49 am That doesn’t help me u fortunately.
I can’t find a way to check for red gun sign required there and the mobile app doesn’t seem to work anymore.

Member here in the forum since 2005. Out of deference to Charles, I'll renew my NRA membership now.. Hadn't planned to, but I'm sure Charles will positively influence the NRA.
Congrats Charles!
Congrats Charles!

Re: 30.05 ... and so it begins
Saw one at my local HEB, My concern is these doofuses ignoring 30.05 and carrying anyway. I personally strongly encourage people to still take the LTC course and getting it anyway. I just renewed my LTC. To much ambiguity in this constitutional carry not against at all, but at the very least people...

Re: HB 1927 on the Senate floor now
I see that it is listed on the Items Eligible For Consideration list for today. does that mean the house will discuss at some point today? Yes, they can. They don't have to. If I had to hazard a guess - they will get to this today or tomorrow and the House will refuse to concur with the Senate amen...

Hope this has legs. The last several sessions we haven't had any progress on eliminating off limits places.

Re: House Dems Introduce Bill To ‘Abolish Electoral College’
Correct me of I'm wrong, but won't the majority of the States, have to vote for this to amend the Constitutions. I think something like 37 States? I,m sure the usual suspects will be on board, NY, Commifornia, etc, but I don't see, them ever having enough to get this passed. I believe it would requ...

Re: "School Sponsored" scope....
I cannot find it right now, but Charles has gone into this at length before. If I remember his explanation correctly, he explains that it can only apply to places where the school has control of the property to begin with. Much as the example given about the office building, consider a zoo or museu...

Re: "School Sponsored" scope....
I don't disagree with any of the responses, but they once again illustrate an example of ambiguity that I hope the Legislature cleans up some day. Ideally, we'd see less prohibited places (bars and sporting events). I can live with the school prohibitions, but searching threads here on the site i fo...

"School Sponsored" scope....
A friend of mine just took a LTC class this past weekend, and his instructor used an example of a scenario they needed to be careful of. If you are in a Whataburger having lunch, and a school bus pulls up and the volleyball team comes in for lunch, the Whataburger becomes a prohibited place as long ...

Re: Covid and 51%
Others had not been including things like ticket sales for live music events, and when they totaled that up their alcohol sales dropped to under 51%. Some slightly creative business practices and accounting, but nothing illegal. This right here should be how it is ALL the time - not just when it is...

i"m also ok trying increase awareness so that folks feel empowered to make a phone call on somebody they think shouldn't' have access to a gun so the Police can do a welfare check. I'm not settled on the idea of "red flag' laws, but I personally would definitely call the police if somebod...

Re: Walmart has fallen!
As for background checks, LTC folks have that covered as we voluntarily submit to them every 5 years. I can't get too upset by expanding background checks since I have voluntarily done so 3 times here in TX (and multiple times in the military with security clearances.). If i have to pay $25 to get ...
