Issues with Holster (Sweat & Sore Hip)
While I have been waiting on my plastic, I have been wearing my holster around the house/property to get used to it. I've found 2 issues that I hope can be solved. I have a CompTac MTAC and a BladeTech gunbelt to carry my Kimber Pro Carry II. First issue I noticed is sweat. I spend a lot of time in ...

Carry in the Workplace (51%)
I've searched and been unable to find a definitive answer on this. I am the manager of a bar/restaurant that is 51% according to TABC. My instructor said that with a CHL I would legally be allowed to carry while at work, and even without a CHL there is a TABC law that gives someone who is in control...

Re: CHL in a CMV?
I can't give you a definitive answer, but my dad is also a truck driver and he keeps a 12 gauge shotgun in the truck with him. He has asked several troopers in several different states about it, and every one of them has told him that while he's in that truck, it's his home and as long as he can leg...

Re: Emailing Application Problem?
I went onto the DPS website and uploaded them through there. I can't seem to find a fax number on the DPS website, could someone point me in the right direction? When faxing the documents in, do I also need to include a separate cover page with my info on it or write any of my info on each page? Tha...

Emailing Application Problem?
Has anyone else had problems emailing a new application to DPS? I sent mine originally on July 16, with no status updates after 30 days. This week I called DPS to check up on it, and was told they did not receive any of my documents. I resent everything by email again, called the next day, and was t...

Malware from this site?
I'm using Windows 8 with Windows Defender, and anytime I load TexasCHLForum I get a warning popup saying Malware Detected. It lists "Exploit:HTML/IframeRef.AA" as the threat. The warning has never popped up on any other website. Has anyone else had this happen or know how to fix it?

Re: July apps
I didn't get to call because I was stuck at work all day, but I did send an email to DPS. The response I got was that they never received my documents that I emailed to them. Said that I am only required to send the CHL-100 form in and sending it by email is much faster and easier. Took them 30 days...

Re: July apps
I emailed all of my stuff and it has been 29 days with no update. I thought email would get a faster update than using USPS but I think I've proven that to be a myth.

Re: Tick, Tock, Tick, Tock....
Mine went in July 16 and hasn't even updated to say they got the paperwork yet. I've never gotten gotten a traffic ticket or even ever been pulled over, so I don't think that makes any difference.

Re: July apps
I got told the same thing when I called, so I'll be calling back first thing Thursday morning on the 30th day. Is there any reason DPS is so inconsistent in processing these?

Re: July apps
Prints done and all documents emailed July 16
Still shows waiting on documents August 10.
Kinda hurts seeing so many people with updates or even getting their license who submitted later than me.
