Re: Reporting stolen LTC
You need to send an email to them letting them know what happened. You cannot do that transaction online during a pending renewal. Simply email them saying your license was stolen. Thanks. Is there a direct email address for this sort of thing? When I try to contact them by "email", the w...

Reporting stolen LTC
Hi, I had my wallet (containing my LTC) stolen while out of the country. Coincidenally, I had already applied for renewal since it expires before long. The online instructions say to go to the handgun licensing app on texas.gov to report it stolen, but when I go there all I see is the status page fo...

Re: How to handle improperly posted 51% signs, a question of etiquette.
I suggest double checking before depending on the app. A friend of mine saw out-dated info using the Android app last December. Hopefully they've corrected it. But at the time showed a blue sign for a Plano area restaurant that shows red sign on the TABC web site. The app on my iPhone showed the cor...

Road Trip
I plan to take a road trip to Kansas City, MO, with excursions further north into MO for the upcoming eclipse. This would involve crossing OK, and possibly into KS. I understand my Texas LTC is good in all three states. Are there any rule surprises or other gotchas along the way? I do not expect to ...

Re: Trip to San Antonio
My wife and I stayed on the riverwalk for New Years. I went armed most of the time, with no problems. (I did disarm a couple of times when we planned to visit drinking establishments.) Most of the restaurants are not posted 30.06, with Bella's a notable exception. There are some 30.07s, and a few no...

Re: Durty Nelly's San Antonio
Thanks! I considered calling them, but was afraid that if they were not 51% posted, the call might attract verbal notice.WTR wrote:I decided to call them.....they say they are 51% posted.
It's interesting, though, that the TABC shows no red-sign license at their advertised address.

Re: Durty Nelly's San Antonio
Durty Nelly's has a substantial "Irish" food menu. I've been there before (years ago), and I wouldn't hazard a guess on whether they are 51%. (Or have a 30.06 sign.) The TABC does not list a license for them specifically; maybe they are operating under the Hilton's license? (Which would pr...

Durty Nelly's San Antonio
Does anyone know if Durty Nelly's (pub/piano bar under the Hilton Palacio Del Rio) is posted 51% or 30.06? I can't find it in the TABC database, but they list another name (Corte Real) at the same address with a blue sign. Texas3006.com has no mention of it. I understand that the Hilton itself has 3...

Re: American Airlines - checked baggage handgun
I'm going out on a limb and guessing that bags with that tag were _supposed_ to have been pulled and kept in the cage where you have to talk to an attendant to retrieve it (i.e., BSO)--but they only implemented half the process.

Re: Shooting at Wichita Falls Gun Show
I'm no expert at all on shotguns. But as it happens, I just read an article last night that suggested that a typical chambered shotgun does not have the drop safety, or general safety against firing without a trigger pull, that we expect from a handgun. Is that true? If so, then I'd be careful about...

Re: Poll: Stop and Frisk
If police were allowed to stop and frisk on the flimsiest causes (which was the case in NYC before they stopped it), I can easily imagine things like OC, printing, etc would eventually become "reasonable" cause for a stop, even when legal. Maybe even being known to have a LTC, e.g. when en...

Re: Poll: Stop and Frisk
Well, from what I hear the SCOTUS already said it's constitutional. So if you believe in them I guess it is. If you open carry there would be no reason to be frisked. Besides I seriously doubt the Feds can force the states to do this anyway. Not likely to happen in Texas. Now in Chicago perha...

Mia's Tex-Mex on Lemmon, if you are in that area. The brisket tacos are amazing. Failing that, any instance of Mi Cocina.

Re: Yet Another CoE question
Closing the loop on my own question: Doing some more research, I came to the same effective conclusion via different reasoning. Specifically, that any residence exemption does not come into play because the CoE Title 36 rules do not allow residences on CoE property or water without special permissio...
