You are right about some Texas public school teachers. My aunt is one of the heroes... As to the discussion shift, I guess, everyone looks at issue through the prism of his experiences and personal headaches... Those of us with kids dread their college years, even if we do our best to instill the right values from the early years, because liberalism is not just an ideology, it's a religion.treeman wrote:Interesting how this thread changed from a public school administrators response to a parents complaint into a discussion of liberal college professors. This may not be true for some states or even parts of Texas, but the public school teachers I'm familiar with and work with in East Texas are some of the most caring, conservative, and Godly group of individuals there are. They certainly aren't trying to "shove" liberal ideas at students. I applaud them.

Re: Cop carrying a gun: Asked not to wear uniform at a schoo
My sister-in-law seemed solidly conservative... Until she went to UTSA later in life. Now she is militantly liberal, and far on the fringe at that. And what do you know? She is an English professor now. Guess, what she does, besides teaching English... She gives out assignments to her students that include and disseminate progressive topics and ideas that are hidden under noble terms, e.g. Social Justice, Fairness Doctrine, etc. These seemingly innocuous terms are completely unfamiliar to the young generation, whose minds she is molding. And thus, the liberal brainwashing begins.JP171 wrote:yea he night need to proofread, but its still a valid point, most of the people that are teaching college have a very liberal view of things, some of them do make everyone that doesn't believe the way they do feel subhuman or do their best to do so. I have had some of my instructors get downright angry when I disagree with the leftist drivel they spout and even had one try and fail me in class for not agreeing with the guns are bad and criminals are just misunderstood little good boys and girls, I reject this categorically and don't even have to think about it. I told the instructor they were moving targetsand yes I got an F in that class till I went to the dean
What was done to her is now being done by her. Very sad. She is absolutely out of control...

One generation of pansies... Coming up.
Not only these parents are teaching their kids to be afraid of guns (WRONGLY), they are teaching them to be afraid of arguably good guys with guns.
What are these kids going to be like, when they grow up? How will they defend this country, if they are going to run away screaming at the sight of a gun?
Nowadays, these kids will run away even from toy guns, according to policies in many schools (or even an index finger imitating a gun barrel, for that matter)...

Let me get this straight: Instead of feeling safe that there was a police officer at the school, some parents are so ideologically warped, that they don't even want cops to be visible in a school?
Just when I think I have heard and seen it all, when it comes to gun laws and rules.
