Re: Where to report violations of Chap 2155, Occupations Cod
Is that because you won't be carrying at all or because you're going to an open carry state? Seems like there are problems with MWG calls in open carry states too... The 2nd amendment, at least as it was intended, is pretty much deal in urban America.Hoosier Daddy wrote: I'm going to miss you guys but I definitely won't miss worrying if I'm doing a good enough job hiding my gun.

I'm not against polite notification. And I think no-notification means zero consequences.sailor2000 wrote: Once a business posts 30.06 they have pretty much made their opinion clear, have they not?
While I do not think anyone should be 'harassed' over a choice they have the right to make, is it your opinion that they should not be politely informed that there are economic consequences which result from their choice?
I have changed physicians, auto dealer, bank and other businesses because of their choices regarding my right to self defense. I have on each occasion very politely informed them of my reasons for no longer giving them my money.
I intend to continue to do so. Would you prefer that I not?
Just statistically speaking:
1) CHLs are like 2% of the total population. We're probably not a very big business impact unless we're talking about a business that has more CHL customers than non.
2) Not all CHLs carry. It knocks the impact down more.
3) Of those that do carry, not all of us would choose not to do business with a 30.06 posting business. Further disengaging the impact.
4) Of those CHLs that do care, not all of them are going to politely notify...
Basically, I'm not sure that we're a huge market force here...
I think polite notification is a great idea. Along with the statistics that show that CHLs are a much less likely to be involved in a crime when compared to the population as a whole.

In terms of the language around notification - it deals with making a reservation.Tic Tac wrote:Do you have to rent a room to count as a hotel guest or does having a drink in the bar count?

You might take a slightly less aggressive tone with the "libtards". I'm sure that not all of those businesses are left wing. Some may be on the fence and simply need a little education about the statistics around CHL holders in order to change their mind. I'm sure than many are just responding to the demands of insurance providers and other outside forces. Calling them "libtards" or coming off on the offensive probably isn't going to encourage a reversal of course.sailor2000 wrote:I
It irritates the bejezus out of me to go somewhere, walk the thousand miles uphill through the snow on my bare knees over broken glass to the front door of some libtard business only to find a 30.06 sign so I have to go the thousand miles uphill through the snow on my bare knees over broken glass back to my ride to disarm while hoping nobody sees me and makes a 'man with gun call' to the po po while hoping I don't slip and shoot myself while putting the pistol in the glove compartment and then I walk the thousand miles uphill through the snow on my bare knees over broken glass to the front door again while now worrying that if my truck gets stolen while I am in the store spending money with the libtard business I may emerge to find a now well armed criminal driving off with my truck....
I do understand the frustration.
I like Chas' thoughts on the issue. I agree.. It's better to say nothing here than push notification in places that are doing it wrong and force them to make changes that are likely to be permanent.
