Louisina Carry and Carry in Restaurants That Serve Alcohol

I've read through several of the previous posts on this topic as well as the info at handgunlaw.us. It appears that carry in restaurants that serve alcohol is now legal in LA as of August 1, 2014.

I'm headed there next week and brushing up on what I need to know. Other than pretty much any "no gun" sign being enforceable, is there anything else I should be aware of? I'll be staying just outside the Quarter on Canal Street. Flying in, flying out, taxi to and from the airport. Drinking and bars isn't an issue for me.

What about hotels? Is it common for hotels to be posted "no guns" or "gunbusters"? I hate to pull up in the taxi and see the sign. Any way to tell without calling and tipping them off...haha
