In that situation - gun drawn and intruder in my house charging at me - I would have a hard time believing that I would punch the intruder and not just squeeze one finger. I think that trying to subdue the intruder would place me and my family at significantly greater risk.

Now, if he didn't lunge at me, I would have no problem holding him at gunpoint until the police showed up. I have a cell phone with me at all times for a reason!
