You can try John@drafthouse.com is the owners email doens't work. He is the CEO & one of the owners.
Did you ever get any response via email? The offer to hand deliver it is still on the table if anyone needs me to.

I think it was. I will agree that the nickname of Moscow on the Colorado isn't unearned for Austin, but to give up an leave? Well I think that is the part that rubbed me wrong. Not the statement that Austin is liberal.

That looks like a spam filter rejection. Probably white list based. I can hand deliver it if you want me to.

What was the bounce message? No email address by that name or something else?

jimlongley wrote:Notwithstanding the 'properness" of their 30.06 sign, since the AD does serve alcohol for consumption on premise, are they not in violation of TABC rules if they DON'T post either of the two TABC signs?
They would be, but I am 95% sure that they have the regular "unlicensed possession" sign posted. Not the 51% version.

That happens sometimes online. Much easier to do when we are discussing the minutia that is the US/Texas legal code. Would you care to clarify?

htxred wrote:did not read the entire thread, only the first post, but it is to my understanding most places that serve alcohol post 30.06, taco cabana, etc.
Totally not correct. All places that sell alcohol are required by TABC to post a notice. If they derive more than 51% of their revenue from the sale of alcohol for on premises consumption, then they have to post the TABC "51%" sign. Otherwise they have to post the TABC "Unlicensed Possession" sign. 30.06 is totally irrelevant to alcohol sales and most places that server alcohol that I have been don't do 30.06.

pt145ss wrote:Above txinvestigator says seeing the sign is irrelevent but below is a post from another thread with a similar question. Here it is said that it is only effective if you see it. The scenario in this thread is that the 30.06 is not posted on the entrance but is posted in the booth for which one does not necessarily have to go to to gain entry into the building, have you recieved effective notice? The situation in the thread below is a mall with multiple entrances of which not all are posted. If one uses an entrance that is not posted have you received effective notice?
Different situation. In this case, the sign itself does not meet the legal requirements to be effective notice. In the mall situation, the sign itself DOES meet the legal requirements to be effective notice. So if you see a sign anywhere on the property that meets the legal requirements, then you have been notified. If you do not see a sign that meets the legal requirements then you have not been notified. Regardless of how many doors are posted.

TDDude wrote:Don't you guys realize that Austin is the liberal armpit of Texas?

Get used to it or move.

It's as simple as that.
That was helpful. Especially when we have already mentioned several other AUSTIN locations of the same business that are NOT posted. The one that is posted is dang near in Cedar Park, not the downtown Austin of the other locations. And Cedar Park / Williamson County is not known for being liberal.

Although if liberal were to be correctly interpreted, what this Alamo location is doing is most certainly NOT liberal. Too bad words don't mean what words mean anymore...at least not in the political arena.

Re: Austin TX: Alamo Drafthouse Lake Creek does now allow CCW

Well, I have been there and it is NOT legal notice (it isn't big enough). With that said, the owner / manager is right. I support her position that she didn't try to mince anything with an "I have to do it..." thing. She said it was her decision and she is sticking by it. Good for her. Now we just have to convince her that she is wrong either with facts and persuasive emails or with the lack of funds (although since they are almost always full I doubt that one will work).

But it is NOT legal notice...
