Re: No guns at fireworks...legal?

There was a fair amount of LEO presence, but not bad. I did carry as there was a very long walk back to my car out in the middle of nowhere and my family was with me. Did I feel safe at the event, yes I think LEO had good coverage, and to be honest considering the environment I had already planned out "being a good witness" had anything unfolded, unless there was a direct threat to my family. With that many people around, and the certain mass confusion that would have ensued, the last thing I would have wanted was to be mistaken for a BG.

Re: No guns at fireworks...legal?

For the record, and to followup - there were no "checkpoints" per se. There were isolated gates for entry and large bags were getting a quick look inside, but no other checks. The town's stance basically amounted to "We would really appreciate it if you left your guns at home"..

As a side note, apparently I know far more Rick Springfield songs that I thought, or care to admit. They had SmashMouth last year, that would have been pretty good!

Jihans wrote:So I'm reading the Flower Mound website about the upcoming fireworks. At the bottom of the page they have a paragraph talking about Boston and increased awareness etc. and then say that because of this, no weapons of any kind will be allowed in the park for the festival and fireworks. Is this legal? Can I carry? Town park, town festival, town fireworks....
I came on here to post this exact question for the fireworks/concert - Howdy Neighbor! :tiphat:

My thoughts were that it wasn't enforceable as well, glad to see I will be able to attend after all.
