Re: Carry Ammo
I carry Speer Gold Dot 9mm 124gr JHP. I began using it after it was recomended by a firearm instructor at certification class years ago. He was also a Game Warden and advised that he carried Speer Gold Dot as his duty round. At the time I did not have a preference so took his advice. Most of my cowo...

Re: Pressured To Tip
It has been my experience that some people blame the wait staff for a slow kitchen. Had lunch the other day with 6 coworkers and it was taking a while for our food to come out. After about 25 minutes the grumbling started about our waitress not getting a tip. I don't penalize the waiter or waitress ...

Re: I-45 On-Ramp (Gulf Fwy)
Drivers are getting more audacious everyday. The speeder-weaver-tailgater is the animal I hate the most. These guys pass on the right and slalom through traffic putting everybody else at risk. If you're getting passed on the right, then shouldn't you have moved over? It is illegal to impede traffic...

Re: New George Bush Library off limits, right?
I have never considered wearing 5.11 pants because they make you look cool. I bought a pair last year for work to wear at the range. Now I have 5 pair and haven't put on a pair of blue jeans in 6 months. To me they are old man pants (I am pushing 40) and are the new coverall. In fact they are the op...

Re: New George Bush Library off limits, right?
Had a friend go there this weekend and was approached before he even entered the building. He was wearing 5.11 pants and a 5.11 hat. Security officer stated she noticed he was in "full tac gear" and asked what agency he worked for. He was then asked if he had any weapons and he admitted to...

Re: Recommendation for a boresight
Ditto on what Excaliber said! Each of the rifles you mention can be sighted just like an AR - use the 25 meter "zero" target (you can print them from online sources free). Use the 25 yard range (just so you can annoy the pistol shooters) or go to the 50 yard range and set up a stable plat...

Re: Got denied and follwed instructions...
Appears they treat deferred as a conviction as far as the timeline. Is it 5 years from the sentence date or the date of successful completion of deferred probation? I assume 5 years after successful completion of probation since someone could still be on probation after 5 years from the sentence date.

Re: Recommendation for a boresight
What are you trying to sight in? Ruger .22s, .17, ARs at the moment. Myself and a couple of friends bought some red dot sights to put on a few different rifles for target practice and ultimately to hunt hogs on a chunk of land here in East Tx. We want to do our part in the war against wild hogs. Th...

Re: Recommendation for a boresight
I have that bore sighter. I personally would spend the extra money and get a green laser so atleast you have a chance of seeing it in the bright daylight.Though for a bolt action rifle i think its easier to just take the bolt out and sight down the bore. you have the bushnell or the laserlyte? I am...

Re: GRAPHIC!! Hawthorne Ca Police shoot/Kill Dog
I am not sure why this is getting so much publicity, the dog was lunging and the police officer stopped the threat. Case closed
Is it due to the "train wreck theory" and people tuning in to watch the last 20 seconds of the video?
