I have been in background review since 5/19.

My theory is my file is sitting on the desk of the person who attended a son's / daughter's college graduation the week before Memorial Day and then took the entire family on a three week cruise to the Bahamas.

I checked DPS a little bit after 6am last Saturday and they were still waiting for materials. I checked again a little after 8am and the status changed to everything was received and they were waiting on the background check. Maybe the update time is different on Saturdays.

What puts you in the DPS-CHL processing queue... their receipt of the application or their receipt of the final documents? If you get "assigned" a processing slot upon receipt of the application, then it seems like it would be practical to apply online as soon as you decide to get a CHL ra...
