Ummmm, no. SYG would only apply if Zimmerman confronted and threatened/attacked Martin. Instead, based upon the evidence, Martin actively went looking for a confrontation with the "creepy-*** cracker" that had followed him. That's not standing your ground, that's being a thug.
That's why I stated that at a minimum, TM is 'guilty' of standing his ground.

We all know from all the evidence that that TM went way beyond the minimum, and attacked Zimmerman who made to choice to continue to LIVE, instead of DIE that night, and so he defended himself.

If TM had simply kept going home instead of confronting (and THEN ATTACKING Zimmerman, (which is BEYOND standing his ground), the event would never have occurred.
I guess I misunderstood your "stand your ground" comment. My apologies. :tiphat:
No problemos buddy!

If I seem to be 'perturbed' when I write at times, it is certainly NOT at anyone here, but at the situation and those involved in the situation being commented on.

I find it difficult to sound 'gentle' at times given the outrageous statements and actions by those on the left who refuse to divest of their glaring hypocritical and often times stupid and outright illogical if not EVIL stands they take.

Oh well!

Even if he actually was simply defending himself, he could have stopped the fight he was winning before he got shot. He obviously didn't do that.

He attacked Zimmerman who was forced to make a quick decision. Let the attack continue at which point he might be seriously injured, or die, or defend himself the only way he had left at time.

If TM had simply kept going home instead of confronting (and THEN ATTACKING Zimmerman, (which is BEYOND standing his ground), the event would never have occurred.

Re: If Trayvon Martin Felt So Threatened....

... then he should have gone home, or just left.

Whatever happened, at the very minimum, Trayvon is defacto guilty of standing his ground.

How ironic.

Let the media and all the other hypocrites who want to revoke all stand your ground laws chew on that for a bit.

As for all those model citizens that didn't like the jury outcome, they're defacto guilty of attempting to lynch Zimmerman.

Lynch mobs, regardless of color, are mobs which REFUSE to uphold the justice system, regardless of verdict.

What model citizens they all are NOT.
