Regardless of age, it needed to be covered. You won't hear about these stories from SB or the main stream media.
Thanks for pointing out my correct grammar use. I appreciate it.

Did I hit a nerve?goose wrote:Again, who here has expressed the opinion that gun control can't happen here? We fight it every day. What have the last two elections done for federal gun control? You know why it hasn't done anything? Because the people you are accusing of doing nothing wrote letters, made donations and were engaged. Just as many state pro gun laws have been passed as anti. Thanks for coming here and telling us how we're screwing up your life. Were we (the US) your second choice? Was there someplace fighting the good fight better than we are? Please tell.cprems wrote:Americans think it can't happen here or to them? You are wrong! Just take a look at the last 2 elections.
The comment was a generalized comment. Typically, Americans for the most part are apathetic when it comes to their rights. We assume that they will still be there. This presumption provides a false sense of security.
I said nothing about you screwing up my life. The comment was a generalized one. The US wasn't a second choice. It was the only choice I had at the time. I chose America because of the civil liberties and freedoms that many shed blood for. For the record, I am a US citizen, I chose the wonderful Country.
You fail to understand that I have lived this fight first hand. Apathy won!
I did my part. I wrote letters, made phone calls and even canvassed for Ted Cruz. I continue to do so today.
There (IMO) has been an anti "OC" issue on this thread. If we can't stick together, we fail, they win. It's really that simple. You may not like the way they do it but until you can come up with a better idea and get everyone together then they will continue. This is NOT CHL v OC... We should be joined solidly at the hip in whatever direction WE take.

Re: Starbucks folds to antis
Read my other posts. I explained my thought process. I know its not a "lawful" notice. It is notice all the same. There was also a segment on FOX news where he also said it applies to CHL (concealed) weapons too!Texas_Blaze wrote:You're kidding, right?cprems wrote:This effectively serves as a 30.06 notice to all Texas CHL holders.

Re: Starbucks folds to antis
Reject it all you want. It's a fact!
Unless we all stand together (in a manner that is acceptable to ALL) we will fail and divided, we fall.
I lost my guns in one Country due to complacency and not wanting to get involved because it didn't apply to me.
Too many Americans have become lazy and complacent. Everyone wants everything but most are not willing to actually put in the hard work needed to accomplish the goal.
Americans think it can't happen here or to them? You are wrong! Just take a look at the last 2 elections.
It's time to wake the sleeping bear.

Re: Starbucks folds to antis
CEO of Starbucks just stated he doesn't want CC weapons in his stores.
This was on FOX news with Neil Cavuto.

Re: Starbucks folds to antis
Yes and yes. As I stated in my previous posts, it may not be effective notice but its good enough for me.C-dub wrote:Cprems, do you have your CHL or have you actually read 30.06? This is a written request, not an oral request. You may certainly choose to do business elsewhere, as will many others, but this is in no way effective notice according to Texas law.cprems wrote:The CEO just said NO GUNS. Which part of that are you failing to understand?
Regardless of the what the law states, he has said NO GUNS. That is effective warning and its enough for me. I'll spend my money elsewhere!
What I don't get is the division between open carry and CC. This is the Second Amendment we're talking about here. If we fail to come together and support BOTH, then we are no better than those who wish to take away BOTH!
We need to get it together and do it quick.
You (generalized) either support the Second Amendment or you don't, we cannot have it both ways. This is an all or nothing issue. We don't get to choose bits that we like.

Re: Starbucks folds to antis
To me it's a written request to not carry. Period!
Good enough for me to not go there again.

This effectively serves as a 30.06 notice to all Texas CHL holders.
