something like this would run u 4k.there are plenty of other options for small machine pistols from the 70s and 80s that arent near as much as an m16 or m14.

what about private security firms. would your employees be able to carry new class 3 hardware to guard VIPs ?
say you run security for a vip that travels to unsafe locations abroad, you dont need the g18's or mini uzis for texas but you might be based out of Texas and need to have ownership here.
just intersting to think about even though it has no bearing on my simple life.
the glock 26 works fine for me, and i do keep a few loaded g18 mags in the car for comfort.
I could def see having more firepower for travel abroad were the location to give you the option of providing your own armed security.
