I use the electric contact cleaner in place of Gun Scrubber, just because it's cheaper, have used gunscrubber before and it is a good product.
I have not thought of that, I will have to compare the contract cleaner with gun scrubber. My sons gave me some Ballistol, recently for my B-day. When I saw how much Ballistol was, I wanted to put in the safe. (I guess Hickok45's endorsement has really raised the price) I realize it may have been 20 years since I last bought some.
Lots of good stuff out there, some not so good. These are the kind of products that I don't listen to salesmen/women as much as I do recommendations from users.
The real joy comes when you are just cleaning the firearms, sharpening knives in the Man Cave. If you put some Hoppe's #9 in a Air Diffusor then all is good. :cheers2: <--- root beer, alcohol and firearms never mix

Re: Recommend A Good Cleaning Gun Spray!

I agree with using Gun Scrubber. I do run a snake through the bore also. I have used Gun Scrubber for years, after I first used it, I took a glock and a Ruger 22/45 apart and did a complete clean and found that Gun Scrubber had left very little if any residue behind. I still use separate lubricant, as Gun Scrubber cleans but is not intended to lubricate.
Guns Scrubber is easily found, even at Wallyworld.

P.S. I am not saying Gun Scrubber is the do all end all. I have not tried them all but I am satisfied with the results for the past few years. I still keep a bottle of Hoppe's #9 around if only for the smell.
