This is exactly the same experience I've had in the FMF. When I was at Parris Island we had a "Failure To Adapt" category for those who were sent home early for disciplinary reasons and was strictly administrative. This category could be used for up to 3 months after one graduated boot camp but I never saw one in the Fleet. Sent a lot of young thugs home early from Parris Island with it.
